That's exactly why I don't discuss much of anything with fandom outside of LJ. the same shit goes on at FF.net's forums, like this thread for example. There's one in the middle of the thread that especially had me rolling my eyes.
Haven't caught up on the chapters yet, so I can't add anything to that discussion.
