FML, My New Hero, and The Latest Chapter.

So today was… oodles of fun. (That was heavy sarcasm, people.) First I took my biggest, most important exam for… oh, about five hours. Five boring, excruciating hours. My god. Then I got upset with one of my friends. And cried in the car on the way home. I’m an idiot. BLARGH. *sighs*


On the other hand, OMG SATSU-BASU IS AMAZING AND I LOVE HER AND <333333333. *SQUEALS* ZOMG. GO READ HER FIC RIGHT NOW. NOW. *shoves* PERFECT. It's everything that's best about Shunsui and Ukitake, yaoi or gen. Their friendship, that bond, is what draws me (and most of you, I think) to them.



WOW. Dude, I’d read the spoilers and I knew what was going to happen. But woah. I actually liked this chapter a whole lot more than I thought I would. Barragan’s speech to Soi Fon was much more powerful full out and with illustration. Holy crap. I’d just gotten comforted by Hitsugaya’s ‘don’t underestimate us!’ and then Barragan had to come out with that. CRAP. Now I’m really worried, much more so than when I thought Hitsugaya was injured. I guess because Barragan is more intimidating now than Halibel was? There is now more to this than physical power, than someone’s arm getting cut off with a blast. This is… something we don’t understand. I don’t know how this is going to be defended against.

And then Barragan’s release. OMG. That is… not just a little bit frightening. O_O And he’s only third in power level (if you count Yammy)?!

…yeah. *clings to Shunsui-kun*

Then again, Baragan saying that old age was the most powerful aspect of death threw me a little. Hrmm. I mean I guess it kind of is, but what was he trying to say about the other Espada’s powers? Hmm. Could just be being arrogant. Or maybe I'm reading too much into it...

Other parts of the chapter:

Halibel: What do you think Halibel was planning on doing to Yamamoto? I was leaning toward the theory that she was going to do some Sacrifice thing to injure him for Aizen. But… What she said was similar to what she said to Hitsugaya.

“You’re next. I’ll make you pay for taking their lives.”

I’m now getting the impression that she thought she could take him. I mean, “you’re next”? She’s thinking of him like Hitsugaya. I think she was just going to attack him. Any thoughts?

I’m kind of fond of the face Yamamoto gave her though. It was totally a sideways 'WTF? bitch you're going to attack ME? haha, there's an alive shorty behind you!' look. Or maybe I’m just juvenile today.

Renji: RENJI IS A PIMP. XD …yeah definitely juvenile. XD

Hitsugaya: I still haven’t decided what I think of his fight. The ice mirror isn’t that lame, and he said he can only use it once, so it must be a special power of his, or something like that. Which would explain why he never used it before. Then again, I already rather suspected that this was only the beginning of his fight, and Baragan pretty much confirmed it for me. As in Shunsui’s fight, I don’t think they’ve been fighting seriously yet. I think the real fight starts now. And it still might not end well for Hitsugaya.

I have the urge to say to Hitsugaya what he just said to Halibel- don’t underestimate her either, short stuff.

The themes: still trying to get a handle on what exactly the themes mean.

SleepyFan's translation doesn't use the word 'control' like Annie's did several times, but Baragan still refers to the aspects being a part of the Espada’s powers. So... I still think Stark going to have a power relating to Loneliness. Probably screwing with people's emotions/friendships. Halibel's is probably going to be something similar to her fraccion's.



The Espadas each embody an aspect of death. Those are the ten reasons people die. Each Espada’s powers reflect that… and my aspect is ‘old age’. ‘Old age’ means time.

It is the most powerful and inevitable aspect of death. Everyone must face it sometime.

Halibel turned out to be an overpower sex-appeal character, after all, she is nearly naked out there u__u But I still like her =X Donnow, I've liked her since the beginning. But she does seem to think very highly of herself XD Trying to take on Yama-jii like that. Guess we'll have to wait and see what the chibi is going to do! That Mirror-thingie was a bit ZOMGI'mNarutoandmykagebunshintotallyfooledyou!, but it's okay since it's a one time thing...

And Oh my friggin God, Kubo! Stoooop with the cliffhangers and show us what's going to happen with Shuuuun and Staaaark! D:

I understand completely. I totally did not give a darn about Baragan to this chapter. But his speech plus his release won me over this chapter. Even though it scared the crap out of me for Soi Fon (and everybody else). Maybe that's why- I'm actually taking him seriously now. Lol. Soi Fon, you have to beat him!! Heck, if she doesn't Baragan is going to move on to somebody else! I do like Soi Fon, but I DEFINITELY don't want him near Jyuu. T_T

I waver in what I think of Halibel. I liked her in the beginning, thought she was awesome. Yay to powerful female Arrancar! And then she was kind of irritating me with her arrogance these last couple chapters... But then I was thinking about it, and maybe she has Ichigo-like arrogance. She does keep talking about her fraccion and it seems like she actually cared about them.
Yeah, since it's a one time thing I'm fine with it. It explains why he never pulled it out before. I am interested to see what else he can do now that he's fighting seriously. How powerful IS he? For that matter, how powerful is Halibel?
SERIOUSLY! I'm getting more and more of the feeling that Kubo is building up to the Shunsui v Stark fight. T_T I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing...

I didn't really have much opinion of the new chapter, to be honest. Even considering all the spoilers and stuff, the 'kage' concept was...yeah, I have issues with it even though I half suspected it after a conversation with another Bleach fan.

I'm not sure how you beat old age, though. Seriously. I don't know how Soi Fon is going to work her way out of that one. And Halibel turning to Yamamoto was very clearly that's her next target. Makes me wonder more about the sacrifice element.

Though overall...I wasn't all that...interested in most of what happened in it :S That's a terrible admission and I am quite ashamed - but I found Ichigo stabbing Ishida (:o NOO not my Ishida!) more interesting than Barragan's release.

I think I just mainly don't like Barragan and don't really like Soi Fon. And feel Soi Fon is once more taking JuuShun time (sigh). What's with that anyhow?

Congrats on finishing the exam and *hugs* for the bad day. But at least the bad day is over with now, right? We all have them. Just poke your friend. I'm sure you'll work it out when you're both cooled down.

I don't know either! That's why I'm more frightened of Baragan than Halibel at the moment. I'm trying desperately to think of some way she can fight back... but I don't think we've seen a Shinigami do anything so far that could defend against it. But she HAS to beat him! T_T He'll move on to someone else if she doesn't... *gulps* Stay away from the Jyuu!

I seriosuly want to know what Halibel thought she could do against Yamajii.

Haha, well, to each their own. Baragan just impressed me this chapter. XD I want to see what he is capable of, and how Soi Fon is going to get out of this (she better!).

I think my issue with the kage was simply that it was an obvious anime/manga ploy for a character to use. At least it is a one time thing. It is a logical plot progression and it's not unrealistic - I was just a tad disappointed that he went so graphic and then made it fake. We didn't need the slicing and blood if it wasn't gonna be real - ya know?

I don't care too much if Soi Fon wins or not, but there is the problem of him facing someone else. Genryuusai, perhaps, since they have very similar sounding voices on the anime. Maybe his ultra age will cancel out Barragan's aging power - or maybe not...I dunno. I have a feeling we've a lot more to see from him yet though.

Juu/Shun/Stark. Hrm. I guess we'll see. Remember whatever Barragan can do, Stark is one step stronger - right??

...And you do realise it was your fan babbling that got me writing about Juu and Shun in the first place...right? XD. You should take responsibility for your actions!! ;)

Yeah, same here. It wasn't that unique of a way to get him out of the situation, but it does negate all the problems we had with him surviving. Like, but he was having problems with Luppi and etc! So I'm still ambivalent about what I think of this development. I still think it's likely that he WILL get hurt in the future of this fight.

See, I'm not too worried that Barragan will go after Hitsugaya or Shunsui if he beats Soi Fon, because they already have fighting partners. Unless Baragan decides to be a real bastard and go after the wounded group on the ground, the only other people he could fight would be Jyuu or Yamajii. Since Jyuu does have Lilinette, I think it's more likely he'll go after Yamajii... but then there's the problem inherent in matchup of the top guy in Soul Society vs. the third top Espada. Hrm. If anything, I'd think Yamajii's old age would make him MORE susceptible to Baragan's power... and yet, Yamajii probably has all kinds of tricks up his sleeve. Lol.
Then again, Soi Fon will probably win. *laughs* We'll see, I guess.

Remember whatever Barragan can do, Stark is one step stronger - right??

Five hours? O_O I don't think I've ever had one quite that long. Graphics had a 3 hour one, then a ten minute break, then a 1 hour one at A-level if I remember rightly though.

All my Uni ones so far have been either 2 hours or 3 hours
Most of the GCSE ones (Except graphics) were 1 hour 30 I think... A-level varied between 1 hour 30 up to 3 hours. Oh and I think business studies might have had two 2 hour papers back-to-back.

Well let's seee... *tries to explain*

An AP class is a high school class that uses a college textbook, and you get college credit if you can pass this crazy 5 hour long test at the end of the year. I'm taking two of those this year, so that'll be fun.

What I'm also doing this year is joint enrollment, which is an actual college class I take at the college. It counts as two periods during the day, so I don't have a first period or a last period. I get to sleep in! All the other years I had to be at school by 7. Now I don't have to be there 'til 8ish. Mwahahaha.
